Complex Case
Our Complex Case Rehabilitation service is designed for individuals with multiple injuries, conditions, or challenges that require a more comprehensive and coordinated approach to recovery. This may include people recovering from road traffic accidents, multi-trauma injuries, complex neurological presentations, or a combination of physical and cognitive difficulties. We also support those living with long-term disability, post-intensive care weakness, or conditions that have developed from prolonged immobility or hospitalisation.
Whether you are seeking support for yourself, a family member, or a client you are already working with as a healthcare professional, we can work collaboratively to ensure that care is joined-up, consistent, and focused on achieving meaningful outcomes. We often liaise closely with other professionals, including case managers, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and rehabilitation consultants, to provide a truly multidisciplinary approach.
We recognise that no two complex cases are the same. Our focus is always on understanding the full picture of each individual’s needs, including their physical abilities, emotional wellbeing, and environmental challenges. From there, we develop a structured, goal-oriented rehabilitation plan that prioritises function, confidence, and quality of life.
We always strive to safely challenge our clients within a supportive and encouraging environment, adapting sessions to meet each person’s capabilities and comfort level. This may involve more than one member of our team during sessions to provide additional support, guidance, and hands-on assistance.
Treatment may include a combination of neurological and musculoskeletal rehabilitation, mobility and balance training, strengthening and endurance work, functional task practice, and pain management strategies. Our goal is to help each client make measurable progress, whether that means improving walking, regaining independence in daily tasks, enhancing movement control, or simply rediscovering confidence in what their body can achieve.
At Cortex Physiotherapy, our role is to guide, support, and empower, helping individuals and their families navigate complex recoveries with care, expertise, and a clear plan for progress.
